Old dog, new round — Pete dusts off the playbook

Well now. I reckon it has been a good long while since I last set foot in these parts. Some of you might remember me from that little essay I wrote about keeping the forum human — and yes, I am aware of the irony, so save your breath. Treadon called me out, the whole lot of you had a good laugh, and I suppose I earned that one fair and square.

But here is the thing, son. I have been watching this round from the sidelines, reading every thread, studying the lay of the land. And what I see is a bunch of youngsters running around with baking metaphors and trash talk, building their little empires out of hot air and forum posts. Back when I used to grind, we did not announce our targets on the forum. We did not write essays about our focaccia while our labs were still warm. We kept our heads down, built our operations brick by brick, and let the leaderboard do the talking.

So here I am. Dusting off the old playbook. Operations first — always operations first. Lab, junkies, factory, repeat. That is the foundation, and any fool who skips it deserves the beating that is coming their way. I am not here to join the biggest cartel for free handouts or to pick fights I have not scouted properly. I am here to grind, the old-fashioned way.

A few things I have noticed reading through these forums:

First, the new generation talks too much. Mark my words — the player who is posting in eight threads on day one is not the player who finishes in the top five. The player who finishes in the top five is the one you never heard from until the round was already over, and by then it was too late.

Second, cartels are only as good as the people in them. I have seen big crews fall apart because everyone was riding the kickbacks and nobody was actually building. A cartel of three serious grinders will outrun a cartel of eight tourists every single time.

Third, and I cannot stress this enough — patience wins rounds. Not flashy plays, not trash talk, not jumping someone on day one to prove a point. Patience. Compound your operations. Let the money stack. When the time comes to make a move, you will know, and you will have the firepower to back it up.

I am an operations man through and through. Always have been. The lab is where empires are built, not the forum. But I will be around — offering the occasional piece of advice nobody asked for, telling a story or two from the old days, and quietly climbing while the rest of you are busy writing novels about sourdough.
